Curriculum VitaeEducation I am vocationally trained in Information Technology, especially in systems and software design and development, IT service management and IT governance. After having worked for several years in IT and in IT related management positions, I took up my studies again and graduated from university successively in Business Administration, Public Management and Financial Law, subsequently obtaining my doctor’s degree on a thesis on organisational behaviour and organisation development at Tilburg University in The Netherlands. IT / Consultant / Manager I was in my teens when I started my first company. I spent several years designing, developing and implementing complex office information systems, such as ERP and CRM systems, managing IT programmes and leading projects. Gradually shifting my attention to organisational processes, management and leadership activities, I counselled managers and other professionals, designed, developed, implemented and led business units, branches and start-ups, devised and implemented various types of organisational improvements. This evolved into counselling leaders and policy makers with regard to matters, such as organisation development, management, strategy, governance and leadership. Collaboration Next to delivering those services directly via my own company, I also worked as subcontractor for various companies, such as CapGemini, Getronics and Arthur Andersen. In addition, for several years, I led one of the six offices of a management and organisation consulting firm. Educator I have also been engaged in education for many years now. This engagement is diverse and widely ranged. It has included teaching (business management, commercial law, IT-related subjects and research skills from within my own company, as well as for the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and several other organisations), developing study and evaluation material, writing text books, devising new legislation, conducting research, managing, coaching, examining and consulting teachers, managers and members of government on matters related to education and the education system. Researcher The past decade I devoted much time and effort to research on matters such as organisational behaviour, leadership, organisation development, organisational processes and business intelligence. Present I currently divide my time between addressing organisational and social issues as an interim manager, consultant and developer on the one hand and as researcher and educator on the other hand. |
